What is 360?
Developing young players the 360 way is at the very heart of SoulBall.
The 360 Foot
Traditionally in football, the main focus has been the inside of the foot, the outside of the foot and the laces, whereas in futsal, the toe is used to great effect and the use of the sole is a key part of the game.
What if we were to tell you we have identified more than 10 different parts of the foot that all have an important role to play in developing a players creativity, skill and confidence with a ball?
The 360 Space
We see space in 2 main parts – Individual Space and Collective Space.
Exploring how to see and understand our playing environment is such an important, but often neglected, part of a player’s game.
We explore with players the different types of spaces that can exist at any one time and encourage them to see the game in a different way.
The 360 Character
Character is so important and helping to nurture a child’s character is something we look to do throughout each session. One example of how we do this is by openly discussing and focussing upon a particular value during a session for the children to consider and act upon. We then seek out examples of this particular behaviour being modelled by the children during the session and celebrate this..
As coaches, we recognise that we are important role models to the children and have a responsibility to encourage and care for them.
